Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Sue My Chemical Romance
The owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand is suing My Chemical Romance over dancers wearing outfits resembling the team’s uniform during a Hollywood Bowl concert. It says the performance could make audiences think the real cheerleaders were involved and harm the brand.
The scene took place on 21 October, during the first of five sold-out “The Black Parade” shows, as the band played “Teenagers”. The dancers later took up rifles in a staged firefight and were depicted being shot, within a fictional dictatorship setting. Pro Silver Star says it asked the band to stop using the uniforms and was refused; it is seeking a temporary restraining order, an injunction and unspecified damages.
