Danielle Steel’s ‘The Whittiers’ In The Works As Series From Cottage Industry Entertainment & Fox Entertainment Studios

Cottage Industry Entertainment has unveiled its first slate under a first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios, led by adaptations of Danielle Steel’s novel *The Whittiers* and a comedy project with *The Office* actor Angela Kinsey. The announcement marks the first projects from the production company founded last year by former Hallmark and Warner Bros. executives Lisa Hamilton Daly and Alysia Cotter Thomas.

*The Whittiers*, Steel’s 200th book, is being developed as a one-hour family drama by writer Jordanna Fraiberg and is in development at a streaming platform. The television slate also includes *Summer on Lilac Island*, based on Lindsay MacMillan’s novel, and Kinsey’s *Mom’s Place*. Film projects include a hockey-themed romantic comedy, *It All Comes Down to This*, and adaptations of *The View from Lake Como* and *The Afterlife of Holly Chase*.
