A full inquest into the death of Oasis fan Lee Claydon, who fell from a balcony during the band's Wembley reunion gig, will take place next year, a pre-inquest review hearing has confirmed. The 45-year-old landscape gardener, from Bournemouth, died after falling from the stadium's fifth level during a sold-out show on the Live '25 tour, and his case has already prompted the coroner to raise safety concerns over stadium barrier design. The inquest matters because it will scrutinise both the exact circumstances of the fall and whether venue safety measures were adequate.

Senior coroner Andrew Walker told Barnet Coroner's Court the two-week inquest would begin on 15 February, or 1 March if witnesses are unavailable earlier. Mr Claydon fell over a 1.1-metre barrier as fireworks were set off following the song Champagne Supernova, and was pronounced dead at a medical centre that evening; a post-mortem gave "multiple bodily injuries" as the preliminary cause of death. The Metropolitan Police concluded in November that his death was a "tragic accident", ruling out suicide or third-party involvement, while a coroner-ordered report is examining the barriers' design, height and placement.
