Dave Grohl “walked off stage and broke down in tears” after playing ‘Highway To Hell’ with AC/DC
Dave Grohl said he broke down in tears after performing AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’ with the band at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The appearance capped a memorable run for Foo Fighters, who stepped in as AC/DC’s opening act and later joined them for a second date.
Grohl told New Zealand radio station The Rock that his wife watched from the side of the stage and described the performance as a “full-circle” moment he would never forget. He said AC/DC had the loudest stage he had ever experienced, recalling that seeing the band’s film as a child had shaped his ambitions. The MetLife show was the final date of AC/DC’s two-year Power Up tour, which began in Germany in May 2024.
