David Cameron enjoys early morning swim with sister after weekend marking his 60th birthday celebrations
David Cameron celebrated his 60th birthday with three days of festivities at his holiday home in Cornwall, then went for an early morning sea swim with his sister Clare as the weekend drew to a close. The former Prime Minister’s birthday gathering drew attention for its scale and for the contrast with his 50th birthday plans, which were disrupted by the Brexit vote and his resignation.
The celebrations included two dinners for more than 100 guests, catered by Michelin-starred chef Paul Ainsworth, with marquees set up in the garden. Gordon Ramsay, Jeremy Clarkson and Helena Bonham Carter were among those invited. Cameron, who was Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, swam at Daymer Bay in wind and rain, with the sea at 13C, before walking along the coast with friends.
