David Dastmalchian's production company Good Fiend Films has launched Good Fiend Lit, a new division dedicated to genre literature and immersive storytelling across horror, science fiction and fantasy. The actor, known for roles in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Denis Villeneuve's Dune, aims to create a community around the wonder and connection that genre fiction provides, mirroring the experience of discovering transportive stories as a child. This expansion into publishing builds on the company's growing portfolio since its founding in 2023.

The first initiative under Good Fiend Lit is Buried in Books, a quarterly bookclub beginning at New York Comic Con on 9 October, where Dastmalchian will engage in conversations with genre authors including Nat Cassidy, Tananarive Due and Josh Malerman. The division is overseen by Natasha Preston, Jennie Iacobino and Leah Kilpatrick, whilst Good Fiend Films continues developing film and television projects including Super XX and The Shepherd, alongside the upcoming Street Fighter film in which Dastmalchian plays villain M. Bison. Dastmalchian himself is an accomplished author, having published titles such as Count Crowley and Knights vs. Samurai through major comic publishers.
