David Oyelowo Joins Anne Hathaway-Produced Film ‘Little Five’

Deadline · 2 hours ago

David Oyelowo has joined the cast of "Little Five", an independent film produced by Anne Hathaway's Somewhere Pictures alongside Pigasus Pictures. He will star alongside previously announced actors Ariana Greenblatt and Rain Spencer, with the casting adding another notable name to a project drawing attention partly because of Hathaway's involvement as producer. The film is directed by Ian Samuels from a screenplay by Gillian Williams, and is inspired by the Little 500 cycling race held at Indiana University.

Oyelowo will play Randall, a former cycling champion whose career was cut short and who becomes a reluctant mentor to a new generation of athletes. Other new cast additions include Sasha Frolova, Nadia Alexander, Drew Powell and Max Cortezi, while the film's producers include Zachary Spicer, Hathaway, Adam Shulman and Johnathan Rice. Oyelowo, known for playing Martin Luther King Jr. in "Selma" and for his role in "Lawmen: Bass Reeves", adds further profile to a project centred on a group of young women forging an unlikely cycling team.
