Davido has reflected on reaching 15 years in music while preparing to release his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ. He describes the project as a personal, Africa-centred tribute shaped by touring the continent and reconnecting with the culture behind his rise in Afrobeats.
The singer says he is continually making music, comparing it to athletes training outside competition, and recorded the album over roughly two years while touring. Some tracks were originally considered for his previous album but were held back; he has also played nearly 60 tour dates during the period.
