Davika Hoorne Returning for ‘Inherit’ Sequel, Director Banjong Pisanthanakun Confirms (EXCLUSIVE)
Director Banjong Pisanthanakun has confirmed that his psychological horror film “Inherit” will have a sequel, with Davika Hoorne returning as its lead. The announcement comes as the film, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, closes the Jakarta World Cinema festival, and highlights the director’s renewed interest in finding fresh approaches to horror.
Hoorne plays Woranart, a youthful-looking grandmother who moves in with a wealthy family and is revealed to harbour a centuries-old centipede spirit threatening the youngest child. Pisanthanakun says he shaped the role with reference to Catherine Tramell from “Basic Instinct” and Hannibal Lecter from “The Silence of the Lambs”. “Inherit” opens in Thailand on 19 November; both filmmaker and actor also point to difficulties securing consistent funding for Thai films, particularly projects outside horror.
In short
- “Inherit” is getting a sequel with Davika Hoorne returning.
