New Orleans-based multidisciplinary artist Dawn Richard has announced her forthcoming album "Creole Culture," scheduled for release on October 9th through Merge Records. The project represents the latest chapter in Richard's ongoing artistic dialogue with her hometown's culture, following previous albums "New Breed" (2019) and "Second Line" (2021). According to Richard's statement, the album embraces New Orleans culture as something that can evolve beyond its historical roots, incorporating contemporary and global influences whilst celebrating her identity as a Black and Native American artist.

The album's latest single, "enough," demonstrates this artistic approach by layering horn-filled production over a sample from Sister Nancy's 1982 track "Bam Bam." The song combines reflections on her hometown with intimate explorations of romantic partnership and self-worth. Richard will support the album release with tour dates beginning August 8th in Chicago, with subsequent performances scheduled for New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
