Ryan Reynolds and Hayley Atwell have officially been confirmed as returning cast members for Avengers: Doomsday, reprising their roles as Deadpool and Peggy Carter respectively. The pair made the announcement in person, appearing on stage at Marvel Studios' Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con, adding two established fan favourites to the film's already sprawling ensemble cast ahead of its December release.

Reynolds appeared in character as Deadpool, now dressed in a grey suit he jokingly called his "Canadian tuxedo", and bantered with directors Joe and Anthony Russo, asking when filming would begin so he could make a cameo appearance. The Russos revealed that shooting on the film has already wrapped, though they are still fine-tuning it, strongly implying that Reynolds' scenes were filmed some time ago. Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled for release on 18 December 2026.
