Deathstroke Actor Reveals Scrapped Batman Film Would’ve Featured Batgirl And A Shocking Death

Joe Manganiello has shared new details about Ben Affleck’s abandoned Batman film in his memoir. The story would have followed Deathstroke as he tried to dismantle Batman’s life, a dark premise that included Batgirl and the death of Commissioner Gordon.

Deathstroke’s campaign was driven by the death of his son Jericho and would have involved Alfred’s kidnapping and a mid-film fight in which the heroes nearly died before escaping by train. The film was planned to end with a brutal Batman–Deathstroke showdown, but it never entered full production after Affleck stepped away from directing; Manganiello later played Deathstroke in Justice League films.
