Deborah Ann Woll, known for True Blood and Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again, will star in a new horror thriller called The Cycle, directed by Jordan Downey (The Head Hunter). The film centres on a man who mysteriously resurfaces 36 years after vanishing, plunging his estranged daughter into a disturbing investigation of long-buried family secrets. It marks another significant genre role for Woll, following her turns in Escape Room and as Jessica Hamby in True Blood.

In The Cycle, Woll plays Meg, whose missing father's body is discovered at a horrific crime scene decades after his disappearance, forcing her to unravel a hidden and sinister part of his past. The cast also includes Jeffrey Donovan, Will Hochman, Jack Doolan, Carl W. Crudup, Jeb Berrier, Gretchen Corbett and David Myers Gregory, with Downey writing the screenplay alongside Kevin Stewart. The film will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, running 17–24 September 2026, before streaming on Shudder from 23 October, just ahead of Halloween.
