Toby Fox and his team have released a new patch, version 0.0.247, for Deltarune Chapter 5, which launched on Switch 1 and 2 late last month. The update is already available on Steam and PlayStation, but Switch players will have to wait a little longer, as Fox confirmed on Bluesky that it has been submitted to the eShop and will be released once approved. The patch matters because it addresses several bugs from the recently launched chapter and adds some minor new content.

The update fixes a range of issues, including memory leaks that were causing random crashes on PlayStation 4, a softlock during a platforming battle, and various graphical and text-display errors. It also introduces new dialogue in the Cliffs' shop under "an extremely obscure circumstance", adds fresh credits for three contributors, and updates the Castle Town manual to mention Susie's SCYTHEMARE. Nintendo Life notes it will watch for the update's arrival on Switch over the coming days.
