A youth-led protest movement in India, organised by a satirical group called the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has forced the resignation of education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam irregularities and brought Gen Z internet slang into the country's parliament. During a debate on a new anti-exam leak bill, MPs from both the ruling BJP and opposition Congress used terms such as "delulu", "FOMO" and "clock it" to attack or defend each other, marking an unusual crossover between online youth culture and formal political debate.

The CJP began as a satirical internet collective before growing into a rallying point for wider frustrations over unemployment and political indifference, organising largely through WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram using memes, "fit checks" and vlogs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials responded on the same platforms with selfie-style videos aimed at young people, prompting opposition mockery, while political scientist Rahul Verma cautioned against reading too much into a single debate, noting politicians have always borrowed from popular culture to connect with voters.
