Denis Villeneuve Officially Reveals How ‘Dune: Part Three’ Changes Everything

Denis Villeneuve says *Dune: Part Three* will retain the series’ identity while changing its pace and feel. Set after the war that began in Paul Atreides’s name, the film shifts attention to its consequences and to Paul’s struggle with the violence he helped unleash.

The story includes a time jump, with a more mature Paul and a world reshaped by war. Villeneuve says the returning characters have changed psychologically and see reality differently. The film is due in December and is set to open against *Avengers: Doomsday*.
