Denis Villeneuve's 2016 film Arrival has climbed back into the streaming charts on Apple TV in the United States, arriving among the ten most-watched films on the platform just days after being added there. The resurgence comes as anticipation builds for Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, due in cinemas in around four months, with IMAX 70mm screenings already sold out in cities including Los Angeles and New York, prompting fans to revisit his back catalogue in the meantime.

Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, is widely regarded as one of Villeneuve's finest works and a modern sci-fi classic. It received eight nominations at the 2017 Academy Awards, winning a single award for Sylvain Bellemare's sound editing. The film was added to Apple TV alongside 18 other classic titles, and a decade on from its cinema release it continues to draw strong viewership.
