Dennis Haskins, best known as Principal Richard “Mr” Belding in Saved by the Bell, has died aged 75. His agent confirmed his death to Deadline and described him as a much-loved friend who always made time for fans; the cause of death was not disclosed.

Haskins first played Belding in Good Morning, Miss Bliss in 1989, then reprised the role when the series became Saved by the Bell on NBC. He continued as Mr Belding in the original show’s four-season run and for seven seasons of Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which ended in 2000. His other television credits included The West Wing, JAG, Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
