Actor JK Simmons has revealed that, despite appearing as J. Jonah Jameson in two Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man films, he has never actually met the franchise's star, Tom Holland. Simmons famously played the blustering Daily Bugle editor in Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy and reprised the role for the MCU, yet his scenes have been shot in isolation from Holland's Peter Parker, meaning the two performers have never shared a set.

Simmons returned as Jameson in a post-credits cameo in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home and again in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. Because Jameson typically appears via news broadcasts or brief interludes rather than in direct face-to-face confrontation with Peter Parker, Simmons filmed his contributions separately, leaving him without any on-set interaction with Holland despite their shared screen universe.
