Devoted and much-loved mom of two is killed while driving after being hit by a PLANE falling out of the sky onto busy road

A mother of two from Prince George, British Columbia, has died after a small charter plane lost power mid-flight and crashed onto a busy road, striking her car along with three others. Alex Garneau was the only fatality in the incident on 20 August; two other people in the affected vehicles were taken to hospital in stable condition, while all eight people aboard the aircraft escaped unharmed. The crash has prompted an outpouring of tributes from her family, friends and the local sporting community.

The aircraft, a Beech King Air 200 operated by Sekani Air, was en route to a remote airstrip near Prince George when it declared an emergency and came down across three lanes of traffic. Garneau, remembered as a devoted "hockey mum" and former competitive volleyball player, leaves behind her husband Jordan and children Josie and Jackson. Two GoFundMe appeals set up in her honour, including one by the Junior Ducks Hockey Club, have together raised more than $154,000 CAD (around $111,600 USD).
