Dhani Harrison and longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich have announced a new musical project, Dragonflies, releasing their self-titled debut album on 18 September via Dark Horse Records/BMG, the label founded by Harrison's father George Harrison. The pairing brings together Godrich's celebrated production career, which includes every Radiohead album since 1997, with Harrison's own songwriting and performing, marking a departure from his usual computer-based solo production approach.

The debut single "Slower" opens the album with tape loops, layered percussion and a trip-hop-tinged sound, accompanied by a hand-drawn psychedelic video from Bristol animator RUFFMERCY. The collaboration grew out of Harrison seeking Godrich's advice during the pandemic on his 2023 solo album "Innerstanding", after which the pair began working spontaneously from tape loops in Godrich's Brixton studio. They cite Beth Gibbons, David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto as influences, describing the album's sound as "earthbound space rock".
