Brooklyn shoegaze band DIIV have announced their fourth studio album, ZIRP!, revealed to fans through a cryptic mailer campaign rather than a conventional press release. The album will be produced by A. G. Cook, the PC Music founder known for his work with Charli xcx, marking a notable stylistic pairing between the shoegaze act and one of pop's most prominent experimental producers.

Fans received business cards directing them, via a QR code, to a hotline that plays a telemarketing-style message describing ZIRP! as "the future of alternative multimedia entertainment." Little else has been revealed about the record, the follow-up to 2024's Frog in Boiling Water, beyond a teaser website billing it as "a new genre for the 21st century." The album is due out on 30th October, with pre-saves currently available; it follows DIIV's May 2025 single "Return of Youth" and their January live album Boiled Alive, while Cook has recently worked on Charli xcx's Brat and her newer album Music, Fashion, Film.
