Dinosaur Jr have released “Blowin’ Up”, a new track from their forthcoming album There Near. The song matters as it offers another preview of the band’s first full-length studio release in five years and features bassist Lou Barlow as writer and vocalist.

There Near is due on 28 August via Jagjaguwar and is the reunited trio’s sixth studio album since 2005. Recorded mainly at Bisquiteen Studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, it contains 11 tracks; “Blowin’ Up” is the fifth, and is described as a comparatively restrained song with lyrics critical of the current political regime.
