Disney+ Sets Premiere For Korean Drama Series ‘The Remarried Empress’
Disney+ has confirmed a 4 November premiere date for its Korean drama series "The Remarried Empress," a lavish historical adaptation starring Shin Mina and Ju Jihoon. The 10-episode series will first receive a world premiere at the Busan Film Festival before streaming globally, reflecting Disney's continued investment in high-profile Korean content for its platform.
The series is based on a Naver Webtoon that has drawn nearly 3 billion views, telling the story of Empress Navier and Emperor Sovieshu, whose marriage is tested when he falls for a runaway slave. The cast also includes Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung, with direction from Cho Suwon. Busan will screen the first three episodes during its 6-15 October festival run, while Disney+ releases the first four episodes on 4 November, followed by weekly instalments until the finale on 25 November.
