Disney+ has confirmed that "Made in Korea", its acclaimed period crime thriller starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, will return on 9 September for a second and final season. The streamer released a teaser trailer alongside the announcement, marking the conclusion of a series that became Disney+'s most-viewed Korean original premiere across Asia-Pacific in 2025. The renewal underlines the platform's continued investment in high-profile Korean drama productions.

The six-episode final season picks up nine years after season one, with Baek Kitae (Hyun Bin) now deputy director of the KCIA and running an expanded drug empire, while his old rival Jang Geonyoung (Jung Woo-sung) resurfaces to pursue revenge. The season opens with two episodes on 9 September, followed by two more each Wednesday until the finale on 23 September, streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. Writer Park Eun-kyo and director Woo Min-ho both return, alongside cast member Woo Dohwan, with Hive Media Corp again producing.

Made in Korea is a South Korean crime thriller made for Disney+, built around a rivalry between two men on opposite sides of the law. The first season, released in 2025, became Disney+'s most-watched Korean original launch in the Asia-Pacific region, establishing it as one of the platform's flagship Korean-language productions.

The story centres on Baek Kitae, a state intelligence official who has built a large-scale drug operation, and Jang Geonyoung, a former rival now seeking revenge against him. Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, two prominent South Korean actors, play these leading roles, with Woo Min-ho directing and Park Eun-kyo writing, and Hive Media Corp producing.

The series sits within a broader push by streaming platforms to invest in Korean drama, a genre that has drawn large international audiences in recent years. Disney+ has positioned the show as a major title in that strategy, competing with rivals such as Netflix for viewers of high-production Korean series.
