Disney+ has confirmed the writer and director returning for the second and final season of "Made in Korea", its prestige Korean crime thriller starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, alongside the previously set 9 September premiere date for the six-episode conclusion. Writer Park Eun-kyo, co-writer of Bong Joon Ho's "Mother", has scripted every episode, while director Woo Min-ho, known for political thrillers "The Man Standing Next" and "Inside Men", returns behind the camera. The confirmation matters because the show became Disney+'s most-viewed Korean original premiere across Asia-Pacific in 2025, prompting the streamer to renew it for a final run before the first season had even aired.
Season two picks up nine years after the events of season one, with Hyun Bin's Baek Kitae now a KCIA deputy director who has framed the one prosecutor he could not buy and expanded his drug operations, only for nemesis Jang Geonyoung (Jung Woo-sung) to emerge and plot revenge. Woo Dohwan returns as Kitae's brother, and the series is again produced by South Korean studio Hive Media Corp; Park is separately writing "The Koreans", Disney and Hulu's forthcoming Korean reimagining of FX's "The Americans". The final season opens with two episodes on 9 September, followed by two more each Wednesday, concluding on 23 September on Disney+ and Hulu.
