Disneyland inception as wild new method to patrol parking lots planned
Disneyland has unveiled early prototypes of AI-powered robots that could guide visitors to parking spaces, designed to resemble characters from “Cars” and “Wall-E”. The project, developed with robotics company Field AI, is part of Disney’s exploration of how robots can assist guests, though the company has not said whether or when they will be used in its car parks.
Disney presented the work alongside projects with five AI companies at its annual demo event. The prototypes follow other visible uses of robotics at Disney parks, including an Olaf robot in Paris and Star Wars droids in Anaheim, prompting some fans to worry that robots could replace performers. Separately, a planned parking structure is expected to add 6,000 spaces, with construction continuing into 2029.
