Disney has announced that fantasy series Coven Academy will premiere on Freeform on 1 October, before arriving on Disney+ and Hulu the following day. The announcement, accompanied by the first teaser trailer, signals Disney’s continued interest in witch-focused programming after the streaming success of Marvel’s WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

Created by Tim Federle, Coven Academy follows Briar, an independent New Yorker who discovers she is a witch and joins a school with other supernatural students. The cast includes Malina Pauli Weissman, Malachi Barton, Jordan Leftwich, Ora Duplass, Louis Thresher and Tiffani Thiessen, with Devon Sawa appearing as a guest-star professor.
