Explained simply
Percy Jackson is a modern fantasy series based on Rick Riordan’s books. Its central characters are demigods: children of Greek gods and humans, who face dangers linked to the ancient gods and their world.
In this story, Percy and his friends search for Annabeth, another demigod, and Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt. The search connects to the Titans, powerful beings who challenge the gods’ rule, and to a deadline tied to the winter solstice.
The series follows Percy’s friendships and adventures as he learns about his identity and the responsibilities that come with it. The story matters within the wider Greek mythology at its centre because the threat to Olympus could affect both gods and demigods.
