Tottenham are prepared to let England defender Djed Spence leave for Inter, with the Italian champions in talks over a fee of around €30m (£25.6m). Spence has slipped further down the pecking order at Spurs following Andy Robertson's arrival from Liverpool, despite starting four World Cup games for England, including the semi-final against Argentina, with Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro set to remain Tottenham's first-choice full-backs.

Spence, 26, joined Spurs from Middlesbrough in 2022 for £20m and signed a new four-year deal last season, but is understood to favour the move to Serie A, where Inter need a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who left for Real Madrid. Inter had also explored a deal for Cristian Romero, though the Argentina defender looks set for Atlético Madrid instead. Separately, Spurs confirmed Mickey van de Ven has signed a new five-year contract after a summer spending spree of almost £240m, including a club-record £92.5m deal for Sandro Tonali, while Crystal Palace are in talks to re-sign Evann Guessand on loan from Aston Villa.
