Dance of Theseus is an upcoming life-sim RPG from Shanghai-based Citreat Studio in which a young plastic surgeon, Thea, falls into a monster realm and becomes embroiled in a fashion competition. Rather than changing clothes, contestants assemble new bodies from monster parts, creating a colourful and comedic take on body horror that blends narrative adventure with card-driven fashion battles.

Thea can ask judges for clues about their preferred styles, then spend Stamina and Sanity to select limbs, colours and textures that fit the brief. Successful outfits earn points for dance moves used in a later scoring phase, where cards can reorder, transform or otherwise improve body parts; rival dance-offs also allow players to disrupt opponents’ scores. The article describes the demo as entertaining, inventive and closer in tone to a playful Tim Burton-style world than a grim horror game.
