Doechii Detonates Herself in the Desert in Explosive ‘CATWOMAN’ Video: Watch

Doechii released “CATWOMAN”, a new instalment in her Swamp Sessions series, following last week’s “BOMBS”. The video shows her desert alter ego blowing up the Swamp Princess, while the track’s references to hip-hop figures highlight her performance style as attention builds around her debut album.

In the song, Doechii nods to Busta Rhymes, Sean Connery’s James Bond films and 2Pac, and recalls her 2024 track also titled “CATWOMAN”. She has said she spent recent years studying hip-hop’s language, history and roots, and wants Black womanhood to be central to hip-hop and pop. Her collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Runway”, reached No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
