Doja Cat to Debut Doc Short Recorded on Ma Vie World Tour Using Ray-Ban Meta Glasses

The Hollywood Reporter ·

Doja Cat will release a short documentary about her Tour Ma Vie on 23 October, the day after her Los Angeles Kia Forum performance. Filmed almost entirely using Ray-Ban Meta glasses, it offers a first-person view of the tour and shows how the technology can capture behind-the-scenes footage from performers and crew.

Directed by Quinn Whitney Wilson, the roughly 12-minute film includes moments backstage and in the wings before shows, and will premiere on Doja Cat’s YouTube channel, which has more than 14 million subscribers. Ray-Ban Meta is also an official tour partner; Doja Cat has worn five custom pairs designed by creative director Brett Alan Nelson, with three tour outfits and the frames set to go on display at Meta Lab Los Angeles next week.

Doja Cat is an American singer and rapper known for songs including “Say So” and “Paint the Town Red”. A world tour is a series of live shows in different countries, with performers and crew travelling between venues to put on each concert.

Ray-Ban Meta glasses are eyewear made by Ray-Ban and Meta that include a camera for taking photos and videos. Their use in the film connects the tour with a wider interest in how wearable cameras can give viewers a performer’s perspective on life around a concert.
