Dolly Parton Biopic, Docuseries and Scripted Series Among Planned Projects Before Death
Dolly Parton’s team says it will continue developing projects she approved before her death, including a biopic, docuseries, scripted series and avatar show. The plans are intended to preserve and extend her creative legacy, with her manager saying future official releases will reflect work she personally endorsed.
Projects already scheduled include a Broadway musical beginning previews in December 2026, a hotel, museum, travel stops, dolls, coffee and other branded products. Parton died aged 80 after a brief battle with cancer, following hospital treatment for kidney and autoimmune issues; additional projects include an animated Billy the Kid series and collaborations planned for 2027.
