Dolly Parton’s team says it will continue developing projects she had planned before her death, following a roadmap intended to guide her legacy for decades. The announcement matters because it outlines a broad effort to extend her work across music, screen, theatre, hospitality and consumer products while stressing that unreleased material and official ventures had her approval.

Her manager, Danny Nozell, said Parton worked until her death on 25 August, aged 80, and personally approved planned releases and campaigns. Forthcoming projects include an avatar show, musical documentary, biopic, docuseries and scripted programmes, alongside ventures such as the SongTeller Hotel, a museum, coffee, dolls, dog treats and a Broadway musical scheduled for January 2027. Her final public appearance was reportedly at the opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Tennessee, where she spoke about offering travellers food, rest and music.
