Donnie Wahlberg said he and the people travelling with him were safe after their plane skidded off a runway during take-off at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid International Airport. The incident damaged the aircraft and brought it into contact with a perimeter fence, prompting an airport response.

Wahlberg said the plane did not get airborne and praised the pilots for avoiding a more serious outcome. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the pilot had aborted take-off before a planned flight to Toronto; the reason is under investigation. The incident came a day after Wahlberg and New Kids on the Block finished their Las Vegas residency.
