A group of Crusader Kings 3 modders has released Dragon Age: Thedas at War, a total conversion mod that reimagines Paradox's grand strategy game as a BioWare-flavoured setting in Thedas, the world of the Dragon Age series. The project offers fans a way to keep exploring the franchise while the future of the series remains uncertain following EA's ambiguous stance after Dragon Age: The Veilguard, with no confirmation of whether BioWare will make another entry.

Launched as part of a fan-run Paradox modathon, the mod lets players vie for thrones such as Orlais or a united Ferelden roughly ten years after the Second Blight. It currently includes 40 playable cultures, several Dragon Age-specific religions, and a limited mage class for those outside a Circle, alongside a "Mega Wars system" that draws lesser vassals into realm-wide conflicts. It runs on the base version of Crusader Kings 3, with the Roads to Power and Royal Court DLCs needed only for the landless adventurer playstyle, and the creators plan to keep expanding it in stages, though multiplayer stability isn't guaranteed.

  • Modders release Dragon Age total conversion for Crusader Kings 3.
  • Lets players fight for thrones across Thedas, including Orlais and Ferelden.
  • Comes as Dragon Age's franchise future remains unclear under EA.
