‘Dragon Ball’ Star Officially Confirms New 2026 Return [Exclusive]
Voice actor Jason Douglas has confirmed he will reprise his role as Beerus in *Dragon Ball Super: Beerus*, a new anime series from Toei Animation debuting this autumn. The series retells the God of Destruction arc from Dragon Ball Super, marking the third animated version of this story, and is billed as a more faithful, "enhanced" adaptation of creator Akira Toriyama's original vision, with improved visuals and reworked scenes.
Douglas made the announcement at Big Lick Comic Con in Roanoke, Virginia, during a panel hosted by Collider's Maggie Lovitt. The new production will feature freshly re-recorded dubbing and audio, and will once again depict Goku's awakening as a Super Saiyan God to confront Beerus. Reflecting on over a decade voicing the character, Douglas said he still strives to recapture the character's original menacing "spark" from Dragon Ball: Battle of the Gods, even as Beerus has grown more "whimsical" over the course of Dragon Ball Super.
