Toei Animation has confirmed a release date for its long-awaited remake of the Dragon Ball Super anime, now titled Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, alongside a new trailer showing off the series' visuals and scope. The show will debut on Japan's Fuji TV on 11 October, giving fans their first proper look at how the studio is revisiting the story after years of anticipation, with a US premiere screening planned ahead of the broadcast.

The trailer confirms the remake will cover the God of Destruction Beerus arc, the Resurrection 'F' arc and the God of Destruction Champa arc, spanning the first two Dragon Ball Super films and the opening 46 episodes of the original anime, and reveals new opening and closing theme songs. Fans have already spotted a notable change, with Goku shown using his Super Saiyan God form before Super Saiyan Blue during the Frieza battle, a detail absent from the original film. The first episode will get a world premiere at New York Comic Con on 8 October, with a voice-cast panel, and the series is expected to stream on Crunchyroll after its Japanese broadcast; it's also set to share a Fuji TV slot with the now-seasonal One Piece, though what follows Beerus in the wider story remains unconfirmed.
