Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Will Send You On a Chilly Loot Grind | gamescom 2026

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will add Norgan, a snowy northern region built around environmental hazards and a new loot-focused progression loop. IGN’s hands-on preview describes the expansion as reinforcing the base game’s distinctive emphasis on using terrain, weather and enemy behaviour tactically, rather than treating the winter setting as visual decoration.

Norgan is intended for players at around level 40 and can be reached relatively early, rather than being purely end-game content. Players will need warmer armour and contend with snowstorms, poor visibility, freezing attacks and avalanches, while potentially using wind, rolling snow-covered boulders, falling icicles and breakable frozen lakes against enemies; the demo’s final boss was a decaying dragon that summons zombies by breathing sinister smoke.

  • Dark Arisen adds a tactical, snowbound northern region.
  • Norgan is aimed at characters around level 40.
  • Weather and terrain can hinder or aid players in combat.
