Drake Sings ‘I Want It That Way’ With Backstreet Boys at 40th Birthday Bash
Drake marked his 40th birthday at a New York party where the Backstreet Boys performed and he joined them for “I Want It That Way”. The celebration followed a major career milestone, with Drake becoming the first artist to pass 350 million RIAA-certified units.
More than 400 guests attended the event at Casa Cipriani on 23 October, which included luxury handbag giveaways and cash prizes of up to $1 million. The Backstreet Boys had previously brought Drake onstage in Toronto in 2022 to perform the same song, which he has said is tied to a formative memory. The RIAA also awarded him 30 new certifications: “Views”, “In My Feelings” and “Marvin’s Room” went Diamond, “God’s Plan” reached 2x Diamond, and his album *Iceman* went platinum five months after release.
