Sheffield station's operator is deploying an automatic number plate recognition camera starting July 20 to enforce a newly redesigned vehicle access and parking system. The restructured forecourt diverts general traffic through revised entry points, establishes designated drop-off areas, and reorganises taxi collection zones to reduce congestion and improve pedestrian safety.

East Midlands Railway has installed directional signage throughout the area and is asking drivers to allow extra time to navigate the changes. Violators of the new parking rules will face £100 penalties, whilst disabled permit holders maintain their parking entitlements subject to vehicle pre-registration with the enforcement operator.
