‘Dune 3’ Trailer: Timothée Chalamet and Denis Villeneuve Unleash Action-Packed Scenes With More Zendaya, Jason Momoa and Sandworms
Denis Villeneuve and Timothée Chalamet have unveiled an action-packed new trailer for "Dune: Part Three", the final chapter in the acclaimed sci-fi trilogy. The footage debuted before an audience of fans and press in Los Angeles, with the Imax event simulcast in cities including Chicago, Toronto, London, Berlin and Abu Dhabi. The Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures film, which concludes Villeneuve's decade-long adaptation of Frank Herbert's saga, is due in cinemas on 18 December.
Inspired by Herbert's novel "Dune Messiah", the film is set 17 years after "Part Two" and follows the darkening consequences of Paul Atreides's rule as Emperor. Chalamet returns as an increasingly haunted Paul, now facing a new adversary, a shapeshifter named Scytale played by Robert Pattinson, who seeks "regime change". Zendaya returns as Chani, whose relationship with Paul is complicated by his marriage to Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), while Duncan Idaho returns resurrected as a ghola. Villeneuve, who has called the film his "most personal", describes it as more action-packed and tense than the earlier entries, framing the story as a warning about charismatic leaders and the corrupting influence of power.
