Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette will receive Variety’s Creative Impact in Production Design Award at the 2026 SCAD Savannah Film Festival. The honour recognises his influential work with director Denis Villeneuve, particularly on the “Dune” films, where his detailed architectural and visual world-building helped define the series.

Vermette has received four Oscar nominations and won for “Dune: Part One” in 2022. The festival will take place from 24–31 October 2026, attracting more than 74,000 visitors annually with screenings, panels and workshops, while highlighting SCAD’s production-design training and industry facilities.
