EA Sports FC 27: what does the next instalment of the world’s biggest football game have in store?

The Guardian · 2 weeks ago

EA Sports FC 27, due for release on 25 September, introduces the Grounds, a social hub for its casual Clubs mode inspired by street-football cultures in Britain, France and Argentina. The feature adds explorable spaces, match lobbies and mini-games, aiming to give regular players a more engaging shared area beyond standard football matches.

The game also continues EA Sports’ effort to improve responsiveness after FC 26’s gameplay changes created issues, including unrealistic defensive rebounds. Developers rebuilt the interception system from scratch over six months, while the new version reduces some defensive AI behaviour; hands-on play reportedly showed fewer problematic bounce-backs. The Grounds includes variants such as 3v3 matches with bonus scoring targets and a football-based dodgeball mode.

  • FC 27 launches on 25 September with a new social hub.
  • The Grounds expands Clubs with mini-games and street-football settings.
  • EA rebuilt interceptions to address FC 26’s defensive glitches.
