Actor Ed Harris has said he felt "misled" about the scale of his role in "Dutton Ranch," the "Yellowstone" spinoff, telling Variety at the Monday premiere of Apple TV's "The Dink" that he was assured before signing on that his character was one of four main leads, which he says did not turn out to be true. He revealed that halfway through filming the first season he grew so frustrated he told his team to "get me the fuck out of here," though it remains unclear whether he is actually seeking to leave the show.

Harris plays veterinarian Everett McKinney and is contracted for two seasons; he said he raised his frustration with producers, telling them he felt "underused and inconsequential," and was told his character would have more to do in season two. He was particularly angered by the cutting of a scene in which his character sang in a bar, which producers said was removed for tonal reasons, and said at the time he felt it was grounds to void his contract. "Dutton Ranch," starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, premiered on Paramount+ on 15 May; representatives for Paramount, creator Taylor Sheridan and 101 Studios had not responded to Variety's request for comment.
