Ed Harris Says “Fuck You, People” After Dutton Ranch Singing Scene Was Cut

Consequence · 4 hours ago

Actor Ed Harris has publicly criticised the Paramount+ series Dutton Ranch, the Taylor Sheridan-produced show he stars in, saying he feels "underused and inconsequential" despite being told before signing on that he would be one of its four main characters. Speaking to Variety on a red carpet, Harris said he was particularly frustrated that a scene in which his character sang in a bar was cut entirely from the first season, prompting him to say "Fuck you, people" and describe it as reason enough to consider "voiding" his contract.

Harris said he had been given assurances about the size and significance of his role prior to filming that did not match what ended up on screen, and revealed he had told his team to "get me the f— out of here" partway through shooting the first season. He remains contracted for two seasons of the show but sounded unenthusiastic about continuing. Dutton Ranch is an offshoot of Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise.
