The cancellation comes shortly after the shows had become controversial following the removal of opening act Macklemore over his vocal support for Palestine.

A nor'easter is forecast to bring damaging rain and strong winds to the region from Friday through Saturday night. Refunds are available immediately at the point of purchase, with automatic refunds being issued to those who purchased through Ticketmaster. The concerts had been facing planned protests over the Macklemore situation, and Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell had also called on Ticketmaster to provide refunds, citing the state's Consumer Protection Act.
