Eight Sleep has unveiled the Pod 6, a redesigned smart mattress cover system intended to improve sleep through temperature control and biometric monitoring. The company says it responds to temperature changes around 20% faster than the Pod 5, while its expanded sensors and automatic adjustments aim to manage issues such as night sweats and chills without requiring a wearable device.

The Pod 6 includes 18 sensors, up from two, tracking measures including heart rate, breathing rate, heart-rate variability, snoring and sleep stages. Its smaller solo-sleeper version omits dual-zone temperature control but costs less, with prices ranging from $2,000 to $3,000 depending on size; all models also require an Autopilot subscription costing $17 to $25 per month.
