An 11-year-old boy sustained critical injuries after being shot in the face inside a home on Fairway Drive in Norwest, Sydney, on Monday evening. One of three 18-year-old men arrested at the scene has been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence, whilst police investigate the incident, which they believe is unrelated to organised crime. The shooting has prompted local concern, with police conducting a thorough investigation into what remains an unclear situation.

Five other people were in the property at the time and were unharmed. The boy suffered gunshot wounds to his face and neck and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in critical condition. Three 18-year-old men were arrested: two were released pending further inquiries, whilst the third was refused bail and will appear before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday. Notably, no firearm was recovered at the scene and no weapons were registered at the address.
