Content creator Tobias Wagner is preparing to drive around the world in a battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 converted into a motorhome. The planned 28,000-mile journey through more than 30 countries would take about a year and could be the first known global circumnavigation by a fully electric truck, highlighting both the potential and limitations of long-distance electric travel.

The truck has three lithium iron phosphate batteries totalling 621 kWh, and Mercedes normally gives the fully loaded freight version a range of about 310 miles. Its lighter living module and expedition modifications could enable a target of up to 621 miles per charge, although conditions such as terrain, temperature and speed will be decisive. Wagner aims to make no more than 80 charging stops, while the truck can charge at up to 400 kW, reaching 80% from 10% in roughly 70 minutes.
